Thomas Weikert, the former head of the table tennis global governing body, has been elected president of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) at a meeting in Weimar on Saturday. The 60-year-old Weikert secured a clear mandate over the only other candidate, the former fencer Claudia Bokel, by 361 votes to 56.
