A robotics student Ken Pillonel managed to mount a working USB-C port on an iPhone X, and last week the prototype went on sale. Last night the auction ended, and after 116 bids, the winning one was $86,001.

The bid was steady at $85,000 last week, and in the past few days, it managed to climb up to $86,001. There were some offers above that, but those were later retracted, including a spoof bid for $1 million that was deleted less than an hour after being posted.
