On October 11, 2021, [[NASCAR]] announced that they will be running a tire test at Bowman Gray for the [[Next Gen Car]] in preparation for the 2022 [Busch Clash]] in the [[L.A. Coliseum]] with a track layout similar to the Madhouse. This will be the first time in over 50 years that [[NASCAR Cup Series]] cars will run on the legendary track, and rumors are beginning to swirl about a NASCAR Cup return to Bowman Gray in the near future.
