By Laman Ismayilova Azerbaijani karate fighter Irina Zaretska (68 kg) has won a gold medal at the 2021 World Karate Championships in Dubai. The karate fighter defeated Italian Silvia Semeraro in the final. Earlier, karateke fighter Asiman Gurbanli (+84 kg) won a bronze medal at the world championship. Azerbaijan participated in the championship with 17 karatekas. However, Ayla Rzazade (61 kg), Ilaha Gasimova (55 kg), Tural Agalarzade (67 kg) lost in the first matches.
