Samsung Pay is the third most popular contactless digital payments system in use in Russia today. The South Korean giant’s resultant market dominance is now under threat, however, as a Swiss company now asserts a relevant patent it owns is being infringed upon so that consumers can use it in the country. It is seeking a sales blockade that would mean Samsung would have to take a sizeable number of its handsets off Russian shelves soon.
