MTN Ghana Foundation has supported babies who were delivered on Christmas Day December 25, 2021, at the Tamale Teaching hospital.
The foundation presented hampers to mothers of newly born babies to mark the Christmas Day celebration.
A total of 19 babies made up of 11 males and 8 females were born on Christmas Day at the Tamale teaching hospital.
Mr. Kwami Aseye Akude, the Northern Regional Branch Manager of MTN Ghana, told journalists that the support is part of MTN Ghana Foundation activities every year to support newly born babies and their mothers.
According to him, MTN has expanded this year’s support to cover 12 hospitals within the northern sector.
“ We believe that Christmas is a season of giving and a season for sharing and so doing this for our mothers is just to put smiles on their faces.”
He assured that MTN Ghana is committed to health, education, and economic development and that MTN Ghana will do all it can to support the government within these areas.
Madam Adam Zenab, a Senior Midwifery Officer at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, lauded MTN Ghana Foundation for the support they have been giving to mothers and their babies every Christmas Day.
“ We are always happy to see MTN come to this facility to give out hampers to the mother and babies and that makes them happy and we are grateful to them.”
The beneficiaries thanked MTN Ghana Foundation for the support noting that most of the stuff in the hampers are things they were supposed to buy and that MTN Ghana has reduced the burden on them.
“ We were supposed to buy all these things but MTN has provided it for us and we are happy about it at least the money that we would have used to buy them can be used for other things to take care of the babies.”
