At least two protesters reportedly killed after security forces open fire
Hundreds of thousands of Sudanese people took to the streets on Saturday in a huge show of opposition to Monday’s military coup. At least two protesters were reportedly killed outside the parliament building after security forces opened fire.
Despite a large security presence, protesters in the capital, Khartoum, and its twin city of Omdurman, set off from across the city in scenes repeated around the country from El-Obeid to Atbara and Port Sudan calling for a restoration of civilian rule.
