Aside from the original shows and acquired shows first shown on the channel, Will they be also shown on [[Now TV (Hong Kong)|Now TV]]’s channels, ViuTV sources most programmes from libraries of [[Now TV (China)|Now TV]]’s own television channels. For example, [[Hasbro Studios]]’ ”[[My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic]]” (2010) and ”[[Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2015 TV series)|Transformers: Robots in disguise]]” (2015) were first shown on Now Hong Kong in 2015, while South Korean TV series ”[[Descendants of the Sun]]” (2016) was first shown on ViuTV.

Unlike competitor [[TVB]], the channel mainly broadcasts drama series from various Asian countries, with limited local productions. Thus far, the station has produced and aired two self-made television drama series: {{ill|Margaret and David – Green Bean|zh|瑪嘉烈與大衛系列 綠豆|zh-yue|綠豆 (電視劇)|italic=yes}} and ”[[3X1]]”. The television programs that they produced are different comparing to their competitor (TVB), they use new, surprising and daily topics or ideas for their productions as to attract further target audience in the market.

The channel simulcasts [[Now TV (Hong Kong TV channel)|Now News Channel]] for live news bulletins.

===Overnights===

In the past, from Tuesdays to Saturdays at 3 am, ViuTV aired a [[Filler (media)|filler programme]] titled {{ill|Driving in Hong Kong|zh|Driving in Hong Kong}}, which showed recorded images of streets in Hong Kong filmed from a camera on a vehicle for about three hours. The filler programme was accompanied by a live audio feed from the Now News Channel.

Currently, ViuTV re-broadcast its programmes during the aforementioned time periods.

===”Open platform” and third-party productions===

On weekdays, ViuTV airs experimental shows at 11:45 pm for 30 minutes, accepting variety shows from third-party companies.

[[R by R|R by R Production]], whose weekly travel show ”JP Time TV” was aired on ATV World until ATV’s license was expired, is to provide the channel a new show titled ”[[Japan Time (TV series)|Japan Time]]” starting from 17 April 2016.
