Move comes after former Daily Mail editor pulled out of the running to be next Ofcom chairman

Paul Dacre has been appointed as the editor-in-chief of the Daily Mail’s parent company after pulling out of the running to be the next chair of the media regulator, Ofcom.

His appointment at the helm of DMG Media comes days after his rival, Geordie Greig, was ousted as editor of the group’s daily title.
