イスラエル考古学庁（IAA）は先日、同国北部のカルメル（Carmel）海岸沖で、十字軍の騎士が使っていたとされる約900年前の剣が発見されたと発表しました。

イタリア・オーストリアの共同研究チームはこのほど、そこで採取された約2700年前の排泄物を調べた結果、ブルーチーズとビールの生産に必要な2種の菌類が発見されたと発表しました。
これは先史時代のヨーロッパ人がブルーチーズを作っていたことを示唆する初の証拠です。
