中国・燕山大学は13日、高い硬度を持つアモルファス材料「AM-III」を発表した。ガラス材料とも呼ばれるもので、密度は3.3g/立方cmでダイヤモンド相当で、ビッカース硬さ(HV)はダイヤモンドのHV=103GPaを超える113GPaであるとされる。またAM-IIIは透明な半導体材料で、シリコン薄膜に似た特性も備えているとしている（燕山大学、National Science Review、新華社、PC Watch、GIGAZINE）。
