Tesla の2021年第2四半期決算発表資料 (PDF) では半導体不足による影響を軽減するため、新たに 19 種類のコントローラーに対応するファームウェアを開発して検証中だと説明されている。イーロン・マスク氏は決算発表の中で、代替チップに置き換えるだけでなく、ソフトウェアの書き換えが必要になると説明したとのこと。
