伊達政宗の顔、最新技術により復元される

NHKの記事によれば、伊達政宗の顔が最新の技術で復元されたという。伊達政宗をまつっている瑞鳳殿と茨城県つくば市の国立科学博物館が共同で行ったもの。再現されたのは40代のころの姿だそうで、瑞鳳殿に所蔵されている政宗のものとされる頭部の骨の模型を参考にしつつ、最新の研究成果をもとに専門家らが顔の形状や髪型などを再現したとしている（NHK）。

訃報：「数独」名付け親、パズル作家の鍜治真起氏

数字パズル「数独（SUDOKU）」の名付け親として知られる鍜治真起さんが10日、胆管がんのため69歳で亡くなったと報じられている。数独は米国の数字パズル「ナンバープレース」が元となっており、国内初のパズル雑誌「パズル通信ニコリ」において、「数字は独身（シングル=1桁）に限る」というタイトルを付けたのがきっかけであるそうだ。これを短縮した「数独」として定着させたとしている（ニコリリリース、毎日新聞、NHK）。
